![]() Others were scrapped on planets like Bracca, where they were dismantled and salvaged by the Scrapper Guild. They were also assigned to the private fleets of Imperial Moffs, and to flight schools. During the early Imperial Era, Venators were utilized to consolidate Palpatine's authority, and later they fought against the fledgling rebel cause. When the age of the Republic ended with Darth Sidious's purge of the Jedi Order and his establishment of the new Galactic Empire, the Venator-class Star Destroyers were absorbed into the nascent Imperial Navy. Eventually, these starships emerged on the victors' side as icons of the conflict. In the climactic Battle of Coruscant in the waning days of the war, over 1,000 Venators defended the galactic capital Coruscant against a massive Separatist fleet. Deployed across the galaxy against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Venators saw action in many major engagements, such as the Battle of Christophsis, the Malevolence Campaign, the Battle of Ryloth, and the Second Battle of Geonosis. At least two variants existed, the Venator I-class and the Venator II-class.Īs the backbone of the Galactic Republic's naval forces during the Clone Wars, the Venator was commonly employed by the Jedi Generals of the Grand Army of the Republic as their flagships, thus earning the moniker of Jedi cruiser. For its carrier role, a large flight deck, along with hangars to accommodate a complement of starfighters, gunships, shuttles, armored vehicles and other craft, was contained in the forward section, while three more docking bays were located around the ship. As a warship, Venators were protected by powerful deflector shields and boasted a range of weaponry. Alternatively known as the Republic cruiser, Republic attack cruiser, or Republic Star Destroyer, it was a versatile capital ship capable of serving as both a combatant in ship-to-ship naval warfare and a starfighter carrier, while also being employed as a troop transport, cargo ship, and supply and replenishment vessel. Watchable I'd say, but it maybe your cup of tea or may not be – don't expect guaranteed satisfaction." Warning. I hope I can find redemption in the second season when it does come out. I may be on the other side of a very divisive fence here, but that's my honest and open opinion of it. The story really picks up some momentum toward the last two episodes after a shocking first episode climax, but all in all, I think what I read out there is really over-rated. I think it's also the dry humor that shoots right past my head. For example, there are parts when there's a character with a frozen expression – it's pretty much a still painted frame, but I don't really get the feel of the scene. In these times, I find anime/motion capture more convincing as a form of animation, and I wonder what "Invincible" would be like with that kind of visualization. The animation is good – very old school though, but good. I think the creators were trying to appeal to a varied demographic but it's trying too hard and I just don't feel a core essence around it. The storyline is engaging, subtly mysterious at best but it had me confused – because the tone swings so much between a realistic, violent superhero story (like "The Boys" and "The Watchmen" movie) and a teenage Archie's comics tone. Simmons, Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, Mahershala Ali, Zachary Quinto, Zazie Beats, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins and dozens of other star cameos including Jon Hamm and Seth Rogen. "Invincible" boasts of a stellar voice cast – J.K. It had me awestruck with the first episode for sure – right at the end of it. ![]() The series had me curious with the reviews, comments and ratings (#62 on the top rated Tv on IMDB) that surrounded it. Living in a world where super humans lie on both sides of the fence, and aliens are freely roaming Earth as powerful creatures, Mark wants to get up there and join his father in the good fight – or is it what it is? "Invincible" follows Mark Grayson, a teenaged son of a powerful superhero and his journey on discovering his own inherited super-powers, whilst he deals with the usual teenager's life. Robert Kirkman seems to have picked up a thing with getting Steven Yeun's on-screen head smacked in.
